I find that changing the vtp mode to transparent and capturing the show run
command much easier for gathering vlan information :)

Since the vlan information is not stored in the config file (it is in
vlan.dat file), you would need to look into copying the vlans and vtp
commands into the notepad as well. Otherwise you would need to re-enter
these commands after you re-loaded the config files into the switches.

Most terminal emulators should be cooperative. I simply save configs in
notepad and cut and paste them when I want them. Similarly I cut and paste
from the terminal window into notepad to save configs.

Agricultural, but Im a bit set in my old ways.
