It is probably not worth introducing a 6503 into your home lab unless you
have a generous employer- use rack rental for this. It's only a matter of
time before Cisco can amortize the cost of these and remove them from the
blueprint (just my opinion).
However there is a little more work required on the 6503 beyond registering
the 6608 to CallManager...the configuration/verification of classification,
marking, policing, queuing & dropping can be quite challenging if you are
unfamiliar with CatOS. You definitely will want to spend some quality time
on the Cat6k before sitting the lab.

I have some questions pertaining to setting up Voice lab.

Anyone can comment if I can use PVDM2-8/PVDM2-16 instead of the
more expensive PVDM2-32 each each branch router?

If Cisco 1760-V can do the job, why are most vendor suggest Cisco 2811
instead? Any potential issue with 1760V?
# Cat6k WS-X6608-E1#
It seems to me, Catalyst 6608 has already EOS. The suggested replacement
is WS-SVC-CMM-6E1 or 2800/3800. My bet is by next year, that's CATOSish
6608 will be replaced by something else? If 2800 can do the job, I'm
wondering
why Cisco will want to put a Cat6k and the more weirdo VG248 inside. :(
