Registration benefits? You mean like TAC points for opening up cases
that you can redeem for cool prizes at the end of the year? Just
kidding, no such thing.
The biggest benefit seems to be getting a level 2 TAC engineer on the
phone when I open a case. I get to skip the person asking me if "the
power cable is plugged in" and "is the switch turned on" type questions.
I don't think there was a CCIE party this year at networkers, but in the
past, CCIEs got some extra love at networkers (this year, we got a hat
and some of us got invited to a CCDE beta meeting).
That's about it...you don't get a birthday card from John Chambers or
anything like that.
I've heard about VIP treatment for some of our CCIE students attending
our classes here in Las Vegas, but I'm not quite sure the Spearmint
Rhino or Treasures was actually aware of their CCIE status... Might
have had something to do with the money they were spending there on the
weekend after class! :)
