Jinhong,
I just came back from road-trip and and the subject
was "IPTV". I had to relocate it physically from one
location to another and in doing so the device had to
be re-cables and so... a troubleshooting we go...
The setup was not too bad and really seemed quite
straightforward.
The main components being:
1. The end stations on either side.
2. The Firewall Configuration - the ports were
configurable in the IPTV Program itself - just match
the FW to it and the other IPTV ports - like 1719 in
my equation.
3. The Gatekeeper configuration.
The user equipment (in my case it was Polycom) had the
ability to test each end by making the connection and
some simple config and diag programs built in.
The basic errors I encountered were when either the IP
or GK letter would turn red - (GREEN is GOOD).
You can do a google search on iptv or polycom and
green or red GK IP and should pull the docs right up -
discmaimer - I also used the model of the polycom
during the search and while I had to troubleshoot it.
Overall, things fell into place quite nicely.
There are other issues with the voice section and
there are other protocols like H.323 etc that can
arise.
