I have been applying ACLs to SVIs on 6509's for a while now and haven't really got a good understanding of the counters. For the receive traffic the counters appear to be incrementing the way I would expect them to, but my outbound counters (in most instances) don't seem to increment at all. I have looked at Cisco Documentation and the NSA hardening guide for Router ACLs and everything seems to be in order.
Does anyone know if Router ACLs operate differently on SVIs outbound or do I need to go back to school on ACL logic?
