From what I heard Narbik, your not only a CCIE but one of the best out
there!
I went on a consulting interview in February this year, here in NY. They
were going to pay me $85 per hour. I agreed as I'm not yet a jedi CCIE. But
the position was dishonest, they were really seeking full-time and at the
final interview they said you must agree to work full-time after a period of
months. I never went back. But they did get a CCIE @ $150 per hour to work
the 40 hours per week from the same agency. So the moral of this story is
you perhaps could make
$300,000 per year with your number if you had good contacts (like my
recruiter) and lived in a city that values Cisco engineers. I can't believe
$100 per hour is the ceiling in LA. You are talking about going through a
recruiter, no? Ever ask what you are being billed out at? Last December I
got billed out at $165 per hour on a short term project (1 month).
Keep looking around

What do CCIEs with few years of exper. make?

No wonder so many California big city types have been showing up here in
CO!! With a CCNP/CCDP it's possible to earn a W2 hourly wage within the
range you're talking about below (definitely towards the lower end of that
range, but within that range nonetheless)...

I live in LA and the hourly rate for a CCIE for a long term contract is
anywhere from 45 - 100 per hour. 100 per hour requires lots of experiance.
