Frame-relay multipoint and physical interfaces are NBMA media types. IPv6
currently does not support inverse neighbor discovery, so a map statement is
needed for layer 3 to 2 resolution.

So no, it will not work without that statement, and if you "debug
frame-relay packet" you will see encapsulation failures...

my question here is why on the serial interface do i see a frame-relay map
ipv6 FE80::213:7FFF:FED1:14E0 203
Will it not work without that?? and how did one get two FE80 address on R3.
when i do sh ipv6 int br i only see one FE80 address....
