Hmmm...

Everyone will find a different niche. This is a
common truth.

For myself, I am bolstering my Cisco Skills with:
Security (CISSP/GIAC/CISA), Network Analysis (Sniffer
Certified Professional/Expert/Master), Network
Management (CiscoWorks, SNMPc, SolarWinds, HP-OV,
Concord), some voice skills at least as far as
supporting the infrastructure (QoS, CVOICE, etc.) and
general design skills (CCDP).

Naturally completing the BS/MS programs in IT and
Security or Project Management are in progress.
Finally plan to round things off with an MBA from a
prestigious private school.

I'm still working on my CCIE studies, but I'm keeping
my other skills intact as well. And working on
exercising some of the skills that got me where I am
today.

I should add having a decent background with Wireless
Networks, VPNs, IPS, Firewalls, NAC, Event Correlation
systems are really kewl timeless skills to have in
mostly any market.

I'm still seeing a decent demand for AD skills and
other similar areas. Two-Factor auth is more
prevalent as is PKI.

F5 Load Balancers and Packeteer are nice to know
"other misc" skills to have readily available.

Backup Systems and Disaster Recovery are timeless too.
