Hi all,
In the book Cisco_Press_MPLS_Configuration_on_Cisco_IOS_Software of cisco
press I came across an interesting scenario present in chapter 14 called
Implementing Hub and Spoke Topologies with OSPF".
Here the author has implemented mpls vpn for ospf hub and spoke topology. 2
spokes are pumping E2 routes and the other spoke also sending some routes
while it is in the same area as the hub site.
2 links in different vrfs (vrf 1 -2hub, vrf 2 - 2spoke) are present for the
hub site so that all traffic can traverse hub site. Appropriate route targets
are configured.
The author has overcome the down bit problem by implementing Shamlinks between
the hub and spoke site which are in the same area, due to which route
propagation takes place to other spokes.
For the remaining spokes which are sending E2 routes, the author had changed
the domain tag for the routes as it goes to the hub site (vrf1- 2hub) and when
these routes are sent to the other pe-ce link of the hub site, the routes are
propagated since the domain tag is not matching.
My question is, instead of implementing shamlinks or changing the domain tag
value. Can we use the ospf command that relaxes the routing loop check ie
capability vrf-lite in the other ospf vrf process (vrf2- 2sopke) to
propagate the routes and implement the ospf hub and spoke?

Ramya Sen.
