Since my post I have been personally attacked by Brian Dennis via e-mail
and now this post from you.

Since you have posted this in the public forum, I will respond publicly.

I PURCHASED your R/S workbook at FULL RETAIL price. The support
complaint I had at the time was the lack of support for the product via
the InternetworkExpert forums. Instead, the only support I could receive
at the time was via GroupStudy.

The second customer support issue I experienced was for my FULL RETAIL
purchase of your rack time. Upon the second failed session, Brian Dennis
indicated that rack rentals were not a profit center for your company
and I could take my business elsewhere. That was fine - I switched to
Rack Time Rentals.

Also, please check your facts below - I had absolutely NOTHING to do
with the Frame Relay NetMasterClass product. Please understand I will
always make it clear if I recommend a product that I had a hand in
creating.

I am truly sorry to have upset you and Brian with my comment. I remain
VERY grateful for the products I purchased and those I received free of
charge in exchange for my authoring of your canceled Technology Lab
product line. I also truly appreciate the personal time you spent with
me in pursuit of my CCIE. I have always promoted InternetworkExpert as
an option for CCIE prep, and I always will.

I recall Brian Dennis posting here that support issues have been solved
with the addition of staff. I also saw this reported in your newsletter.

Hi Anthony,

        I'm *very* surprised to see this comment from you considering
the numerous hours that I personally spent talking to you on the phone
giving you technical support, advice, and guidance during your CCIE
preparation. In addition to this, the thousands of dollars worth of
products and services you received from Internetwork Expert were
provided to you directly from me *free of charge* as a professional
courtesy under the guise that you would be doing product development for
Internetwork Expert in the future.

        Also personally I think it's unethical that you pump up the
netmasterclass products such as their frame relay videos while
conveniently leaving out the fact that you yourself are the author and
instructor for the product. At least when Brian Dennis and I talk about
our products, or Narbik or Scott talk about theirs, it's clear based on
our signatures that we actually work for the companies that we're
talking about.

        When a user that is new to the group gets an email reply like
yours from the domain thomson.com with no signature other than your CCIE
number saying that you used product XYZ and passed the lab, they're most
likely going to think that you are an impartial end-user of the
products, which in this case you are clearly not.

Counting the peeps on the site is the last thing I would do when
choosing a vendor. In fact, I would never bother to do it.

After passing using the materials of several vendors, I would recommend
the following:

1. Ask for a sample or tour of the product you are considering. Evaluate
the materials carefully.

2. Explore the Support options that are available with the vendor. Do
they have chat, forums, 800 numbers, etc. Are these actually monitored
by qualified employees of that company?

Something else to consider is using multiple vendors. While vendors
certainly do not want to hear that recommendation, most here, including
myself, believe that some vendors excel at certain products compared to
others.

You have a point, but what you fail to mention is the following:

Your statement does NOT reflect the truth; it fails to mention the
actual
number of passing students relative to the number of attendees, which I
would surmise to be a low percentage.

If Vendor-1 has 10 students and 3 pass, Vendor-1 has a passing
percentage of
30 percent. But if Vendor-2 has 100 students and only 16 pass,
Vendor-2's
ratio is 16 percent, that does not mean that Vendor-2 has a better
product,
from Vendor-2's perspective, it has 16 passing students versus 3, but
the
truth of the matter is that Vendor-1 has a better percentage and
product.
