There are software packet generators out there (ie. VLC), but to be
honest when you talk about "testing" a router, do you mean just for QoS
(ie. CCIE lab) or doing real, genuine testing. If you are trying to do
strict real-time testing, Smartbits is a good choice, but very
expensive.

Subject: OT: router stress test

Hi Guys,
Is it possible to emolute the real time traffic in the lab to test the
router's?

I am trying to simulate the following scenario:

Laptop1----------------Router--------------------Laptop2

I want to generate differenty packets (TCP/UDP streams) from laptop 1
sending out to laptop2.

The main point is, I want to pump the different source and destination
type
traffic..........
The source address and the destination address should change.

Is there any tool to do it ?
