Yes - I feel like the CCNA and CCNP were critical first steps in my eventual success. I really cannot imagine completing CCIE without them.
In fact, I made it tougher on myself by not including some courses outside of the CCNP track.
At this point I would recommend the following additional courses outside of the NP track:
QoS
BGP
SND
SNRS
Thoroughly mastering the NP and the courses above will build a very strong foundation and will prepare you well for the practice labs and CCIE Lab Exam specific materials that are also out there.

Hi there,
Although you don't have to get the other certs to go for ccie, it's
advisable to - you'd be expected to be able to pass them as a ccie, so
you might as well and they're only 1-2 hr exams, but will give you a
great grounding and fill in gaps that you might have and never thought
about.
It also might give you the attractiveness for a company to take you on
and give you the time to train for a ccie - invest in your personal stock!
