PPP authentication

Hi Group,

Can someone help me out in the following scenario?

R1-s0/1-----------------------------s0/1-R2

R1 authenticates R2 with Router1 and clear text password CISCO. Do not use
global command username on R1.

I am wondering if you can configure PPP pap authentication without having a
username created on R1.

Any suggestions appreciated.
