$10-15k for IOS.
$15k each for a 6748-ge-tx.
$15k each for a 6724-spf (without SFPs).

$10k for the empty 6509-e chassis.
(Just pulled the numbers from the retail price list)

Don't forget about additional virtual firewall licenses. Those are
fairly expensive as well.

With the dollars out of the way, I would pick a 6500 over a 4500 any day
of the week because the 4500 ranks at the bottom of my list of favorite
switches. The step down from the 6500 for me would be a 3750 stack.
