Hello group,
Any takers ?
I dind't find any documentation saying that discontiguous wildcard mask
are/are not supported. If they are supported, i still would like to know if
they may applied to Auto-RP, BSR or Static-RP.
Thanks.
Antonio

Subject: Multicast - AutoRP/BSR and Discontiguous Wildcard Masks
Dear Group,
When defining Mcast Groups using Auto-RP or BSR are we allowed to use
discontiguous Wildcard Marks ?
For example, i have this in my lab:
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
R3:
!
ip access-list standard mcast
permit 225.10.0.0 0.48.255.255
!
ip pim send-rp-announce Loopback0 scope 16 group-list mcast
ip pim send-rp-discovery Loopback0 scope 16
R4:
!
ip access-list standard mcast
permit 226.37.0.0 1.8.255.255
!
ip pim send-rp-announce Loopback0 scope 16 group-list mcast
ip pim send-rp-discovery Loopback0 scope 16
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
And i see mappings to 225.10.0.0/22 and 226.36.0.0/14 which are different to
the ACL's defined:
Rack1R2(tcl)#sh ip pim rp map
PIM Group-to-RP Mappings
Group(s) 225.10.0.0/22
RP 150.1.3.3 (?), v2v1
Info source: 150.1.4.4 (?), elected via Auto-RP
Uptime: 00:26:21, expires: 00:02:29
Group(s) 226.36.0.0/14
RP 150.1.4.4 (?), v2v1
Info source: 150.1.4.4 (?), elected via Auto-RP
Uptime: 00:23:41, expires: 00:02:30
Rack1R2(tcl)#
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The only option here is to use Static RP ?
Thanks.
Regards,
Antonio
