Re: If a service provider runs PVST+ and we want to run MST

This is really generating lots of anxiety. Can we
simply turn off STP in a per-port basis ? Then
ask the service provider to manually maintain loop
free topology. We know PVST+ will not run on the 65th
vlan created. bpdu-filter will put a port in error
state if receiving bpdus so not good.

What do we do with an out of control service provider
that doesn't say what STP they are running and shuts
down port willingly and send bpdus whenever and
however it likes ?

cisco.com's support documents always assume everyone
knows everyone else's configuration.
