In the VPN 3000 series at least, WebVPN and SSL VPN are different.
WebVPN is a HTTPS server on the concentrator that allows you to access
resources on the inside network by clicking on links on a web page.
Supported resources include HTTP/HTTPS servers, CIFS fileshares, and
port forwarding. This does not require client software.

SSL VPN provides full VPN functionality over an SSL connection, but
requires that a small client be installed, which is pushed from the
concentrator.

I assume that similar functionality is available in the ASA, but I
haven't used those yet.

"Webvpn" is just Cisco's marketing term for their SSL-VPN offerings to
the
best of my knowledge. You'll typically see Webvpn pop up on IOS, ASA,
and
VPN3K feature lists. The "Webvpn" feature support varies slightly
between
the three platforms and you'll probably see most of the Webvpn
development
going into the ASA platform in the future. HTH
