The channel-protocol is to ensure the interface using correct protocol. The
channel-group command must obey this command or it will not negotiate
successful. Desirable will negotiate PAgP and send negotiation frame. Auto
will not send first but will reply PAgP. So, yes, PAgP etherchannl will be
buit up.

Best regards,

Leo

VwLb: Etherchannel question

Can anyone tell me what the use of the 'channel-protocol' command is? Surely
if you have set the mode of the channel group correctly, it will be running
the correct protocol anyway. i.e. if you put 'desirable' and 'auto' either
end of a link, then it would run PagP am I right?
