Thanks Hewie/all who responded. Telnetting in and then clearing the line is
by far the fastest way (duh! can't believe I did not think of this).
Something else to keep in mind. If you use puts [ exec "rsh $router ping
$address" ], the break sequence will allow you to limit your pings to a single
ping per each targetted device.

Oops, have been fiddling with CRT scripts the whole day, should be studying,
sorry briapolo I don't know how to kill a TCL script, have tried with one of
my lab routers, had to telnet in and clear the line.
