Hey Ryan.

One "technique" (if you can call it that) that I used that I think
helped me a LOT:

Whenever I missed something while doing a practice lab, I made a great
effort to make sure I didn't dismiss the problem as "oh I forgot a
keyword no big deal" or whatever.

With internetworkexpert, you get 12 hours of lab time. That's enough
time to do the practice lab and a few hours left to fully explore one
or two "features" that you haven't locked down in your mind yet. For
instance, multicast-helper maps. I just sat and messed with those for
four hours. Doing debugs. Removing a command here or there to see if
it breaks or changes and watching the debugs. I did this until I knew
exactly what every command was doing and what the debugs look like when
its not working. And I noted everything down (I used Freemind!). Then
I reviewed these notes at least 3 or 4 times a week.

There was probably close to 30 or 35 features that I took extensive
notes on and fiddled with greatly. Another good one is how many ways
to inject a default route into the various OSPF area types. When do
they break? How do they propogate are they N routes or E routes?
Etc.

There are really only a dozen or so really knotty things like this that
become crystal clear if you stop to just play with them and take
notes.

Just a thought. Not sure if it will help or not.
