Though *Digital Yemeni* is technically correct, Cisco has a different view.

A CCIE is neither a CCNP,CCVP, CCSP nor CCDP automatically and one cannot
claim him/her a CCNP/CCDP ... if he/she is a CCIE only. (Though CCIE covers
the NP and NA)

If he/she is already a current CCNP/CCDP .... his certification is renewed
whenever he/she clears any track of written CCIE.

I know this quite well, as in my work place, I am a CCNP and my colleauge is
CCIE but not a CCNP.

The whole confusion arises from the fact that CCIE does not have any
pre-requisite, whereas CCNP/CCDP require CCNA/CCDA.

Also, some people sit for the CCNP exams and expect their expired CCNA would
automatically be renewed; only to know that they have to resit for CCNA to
be a current CCNP.

This is purely in Cisco Certification point of view.
