In the northeast:
NetmasterClass and IPExpert jump into my mind and I
know NetmasterClass accepts Cisco Learning Credits - I
do not know that IPExpert does.
Perhaps Scott or Marvin can help with this one.
In either event, these are both two fine training
companies.
I have attended NMC-1 and NMC-2 and feel that I gained
the NMC-Advantage on the ability to spot the issues
and use a careful strategy to approach anyone's labs.
I highly recommend the team at NMC. Also, they are
responsive and have excellent customer service. India
Teller will take excellent care of you and answer any
questions or concerns you may have. She is the
ultimate in professional.
Bruce Caslow has an absolutely fantastic team of
hand-picked professionals that are beyond reproach
(you might note his name as being one of the
references that is often cited for CCIE Prep as well).
He has Bob Sinclair, the man can brek down most any
topic and make it seem easy. In the back you will
find Val Pavlichenko who carefully studies you and
your performance on his "CheckIT Labs" that you will
preform while in class.
If you choose NMC, you also get access to their widely
respected Tech Library, which is a valuable asset and
you get access to the labs you have completed and the
ability to run show commands against them and the
"master" configs - so you can learn from your
experiences even after the classes.
I might add that NMC offers the most comprehensive
Class on Demand series currently in production, while
not yet finished, it is still second to none. Each of
the segments offers quizzes and labs in addition to
excellent technical explanations on a per topic basis.
The labs offered by NMC are (in my opinion) the most
technical and most difficult offered by any vendor I
have seen to date. While not always easy for the
newbie, the lab candidate who can complete them has
often reported the lab exam to be only mildly
difficult in comparison.
Many of my class-mates from my NMC classes passed the
exam within 3-6 months of attending one or both
classes and at least 2 passed on the first attempt
that I know of personally. At least 2 others on their
second attempt. Some have given up for now and some
are unaccounted for.
Class size at NMC is limited to 7 students to 3
instructors and a readily available support staff.
---------------------------------
I cannot elaborate more with regard to IPExpert as I
have not attended their offerings. I did not see that
they accept Cisco Learning Credits, so I am not sure
they are what you are looking for from that vantage
point.
However, I would check with Scott Morris to be sure,
he has a good personailty and has a lot of positive
references here on Groustudy as well as around the
rest of the Internet.
There are other providers of training like Global
Knowledge and others in the east coast, but if they do
not know who the instructor is, I'd be wary especially
when you have the likes of Scott Morris and Bruce
Caslow to choose from in that region.
