I'm new here, some of the contribution, correct me if I'm wrong.

I remember read from some forum that before the marking, they will reboot all
switches and routers. In order to have consistent behaviour, it's a good idea
to control things like root bridge in STP, DR of OSPF etc. If that's still
true, manually place root bridge should be a good idea. Plus, even if the
configuration is not explicitly required, there is no deduction as long as the
requirements have been fulfilled.
