I believe so. Because i heard that the configurations you've done during the exam will be loaded in somewhereelse for the evaluation purpose. Therefore, you should manully desigate the Root Bridge by specifying Root priority rather than selecting Root bridge by mac.
The other reason i believe is the fact that some commands you have to configure on the root bridge will be no longer valid if the root bridge is selected later on unpredictable.
