Patrick,

We have a very nice recommended approach for R&S preparation. Feel free and
read it: http://www.ccbootcamp.com/collateral/rs-approach.pdf

The approach utilizes two different sets of workbooks we offer. One is a
technology focused approach while the other is a set of complex integrated
lab scenarios.

Scott/Zia-It appears you guys mis-read this gentleman's email (I did
originally too until an offline conversation pointed it out). He is
actually looking for R&S material, not security. ;)

thanks,
Brad Ellis

Hi,

I am using Khawar Butt's Security workbook,

  http://www.netmetric-solutions.com/ccie_securitylabworkbooks.htm

it is good. I am new in this area, not much sure about other venders.

  Thanks

I can say that the current Security workbook (v2) is completely different
than what you may have seen/had before. I would assume that the Brians' v2
book (when completed?) will be the same.

And as always, the "which is better" will mostly be determined by the way
the stars line up on any particular day, and what kind of mood/mode the user
happens to be in. Things work for one, and not so well for another.

If you have the ability, I would suggest getting both. Not because you'll
get any technology more in one than another (we both work from the same
blueprint), but becaues you'll get two different perspectives and methods of
thinking.

Enough about my rendition of "objective" here. ;)

A few years I used the IPExpert to study for CCIE Security. I didn't end up
passing it and haven't attempted again for various reasons. My current job
sees me doing less security and more R&S so I want to do CCIE R&S. Can
anyone here objectively compare the workbooks from both companies? I found
the IPExpert workbook to be very good, but many people have said the same
about InternetworkExpert.

I know there are people on this list from both companies. I welcome your
comments, but obviously you will be less objective J

Cheers,

Patrick
