RE: CHECKiT Lab Scoring Realism

Yeah - great post Sean.

I did a flurry of CHECKiTs before my final Lab experience.

The score kept creeping up - but I NEVER passed a single CHECKiT.

The actual lab seemed like a bit of a joke after the NMC experience. I
presume that is one of the things they were going for when they designed
them.

Hi Sean,

Don't correlate your score on a CheckIT to your score on the real lab.
As
others have mentioned, CheckIT's are tough - real tough. Don't get
discouraged with the score - it's actually a pretty decent start. When
I
took the CheckITs, I could see my score creep up week after week as I
approached my lab date. Too be honest, I don't think I ever scored over
an
85 on any of the CheckITs, but it was the gradual rise in score that
assured
me that I was on the right track. But I'm sure I wouldn't have passed
my
lab without the focus and attention I used during my CheckIT labs.
Little
things - like could I find that QoS command on the DocCD, or was I able
to
hit the golden moment within a certain time window - are just as
important
to evaluate when using a CheckIT as is the final score.

Good luck next week!

Subject: CHECKiT Lab Scoring Realism

My 2nd lab attempt is scheduled for Tuesday, 3-13. To make
myself
feel better, I decided to try an NMC CHECKiT lab on Sunday. Now I feel
worse. The amount of work and difficulty seemed to be far worse than I
experienced in the real thing. I took the entire 9 hours, didn't
complete
all of the tasks, and I scored a 66, and now I'm a little worried about
my
odds of passing on Tuesday.
Is a 66 on CHECKiT lab 11 all that bad, and could that translate
to an 80 on the real lab? Or should I cancel all of my plans and devote
this final week to nothing but study?
I've found that preparing for the lab is a 2nd full-time job,
and
it has negatively affected every portion of my life. I'd really like the
2nd attempt a success.
