Yes - in the real lab you often need to do things that Cisco did not
explicitly ask for in order to satisfy the requirements of a task. This
is a big part of why the test is so difficult.

To address your specific concerns, the status of an interface is
something that needs to be checked for sure! Also, keep in mind that
your rack may have all kinds of strange initial configurations
"built-in" - that way Cisco can ensure your troubleshooting skills are
up to speed.

The initial configuration given have no shut down on the interconnection

between all the switches. The questions did not mentioned on thus unused

link should be shut or unshut either. Should we leave thus link as

on vlan 1 or trunk negotiated thru DTP or we should shut them down?

initial configuration to achieve the requirement of the question
although it
