This is amazing, sometime you read and you don't get what is in what
are you reading!!!! I posted very similar question few days back and
Brain Dennis answered, I read, but could pickup, he mentioned in the
first line of his answer that,
"END-TO-END KEEPALIVES CAN NOT BE USED TO BRING PHYSICAL INTERFACES DOWN"
so actually, even in that question that I posted, when I put
end-to-end keepalive on subinterface and backup command under it, on
the other end router physical interface with end-to-end keepalive and
shutdown this end, router with subinterface was able to detect and
bring backup interface up and not vice versa.....
