Buddies,
I failed my 2nd attemp in HK on 24th. It was another happy and painful
experience.
I think the exam is quite easy except a few QoS and security problem. And I
spent 1 hour to redraw my diagram, 5 hours to finish the lab and 2 hours to
verify my answers. I was happy when I step out of the exam center as I
don't think I made any mistakes in the exam
But the real pain comes again on the day after when I checked my result.
The result is even worse than my last attemp! I scored only 63% for IGP and
25% for BGP. Moreover QoS is 38% and Multicast is 0%!!! What an awful
result!!
It really greatly diminished my confidence with these topics. Before I went
for the exam I tried the all IEWB ver 3 and CCIE assessor lab but I didn't
find any problem to make my IGP/BGP/MCast working to fulfil the
requirements. And in my last 2 hours. Each and every points in
IGP/BGP/MCast is double confirmed with various show/debug/ping/trace
command. But, the almost the same as my 1st attempt, I still can not score
more than 70% for IGP or 50% for BGP (MCast drop from 100% on 1st attemp
to 0%). And, ironically, I think these questions are rather simple to
understand and to solve and I really got no idea on where goes wrong.
Now I am in the dilemma of whether should I go for it again and what kind of
preparation shall I adopt for the next try. I believe that I masters all
the topics well in IGP/BGP/MCast but it should be way of interpreting the
question or method adopted cost me quite enough marks to fail. May someone
suggest me how to improve on these "soft" areas? Otherwise I'm really going
to have a phobia for the lab exam...
