Think about what the two protocols do and I think you'll answer your
question there! IGMP is a protocol with a particular purport. Multicast
packets in general are a different focus and/or focus point in your
multicast design.

Subject: What's the difference between "ip igmp access-list" and "ip
multicast boundary"?

What's the difference between "ip igmp access-list" and "ip multicast
boundary"?

On the surface these both seem to do the same thing. The doc cd is a little
weak on "ip igmp access-list". Under the "ip multicast boundary" it says
that it prevents multicast traffic from traveling either direction.

Thanks for any explanations,

-Ryan
