I am getting confused on the MDT topic, I was hoping one of you could clarify
something for me..
CE1---(vrf aaa)PE1(as1)--P--PE1(as1)--(as2)-PE2--P--PE(as2)(vrf aaa)---CE2
Assume no routing issues between CE1 and CE2 (full routing in between).I've
configured MDT on PE1(as1) and PE1(as1) both in MDT default 239.1.1.1Please
note that where in different AS-es.
I've setup multicast so that "sparse-mode" run between AS1 and AS2 (as1 =
static rp and as2=static rp).
MSDP between the RP's from the different AS's is configured.
CE1 = loopback 1.1.1.1 = statics RP for the multicast domain.CE2 = loopback
2.2.2.2 = uses loopback 1.1.1.1 (so static RP configured).I've configured
several ip igmp join statements on the loopbacks on the ce's.
All statics rp configuration use the "override" keyword, so no auto-rp, bsr
issues.
I can ping the multicast addresses from CE1 to CE2 and vice versa on the
configured igmp join groups, NO problem.. So basically you can say that my
INTER-domain mpls multicast works, without address-family MDT and such..
What I noticed, is the following: Normally when your in the same AS, you can
type the command "show ip pim mdt" and show ip pim mdt BGP".
When I use the "show ip pim mdt BGP" command I do NOT get any output. I've
tried to setup EBGP vpnv4 sessions between the MDT PE's in the different
AS-es, with next-hop-unchanged, but still no output from the "show ip pim mdt
bgp" command, Is this a problem?
What I basically would like to ask is, is the configuration I described, since
it's working, a good INTER-as mpls multicast setup. Or am I missing something
since the MDT bgp command does not give any output??????????????????
Thanks for your reply's ..
Regards
