3560 to Cisco IP Phone

Group,
    Should the switchport connected to a Cisco IP Phone be configured as
a trunk. The 3550 is set to dynamic desirable but the 3560 is set to
dynamic auto. However if I issue the macro cisco-phone on the interface,
it is configured statically as an access port.
