ppp queston

when i enable ppp on a frame relay link, assign it a virtual template and then assign an ip to the virtual template, i am not able to ping my own ip. Is this normal?

  hence

  int s0/0.1
  frame-relay interface-dlci 205 ppp virtual-template 1

  int virtual-template 1
  encap ppp
  ip address 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.0


  i can't seem to ping 1.1.1.1 but i can ping the far end.
