Windows 64 can address more memory than 32 bit. I use both and while I prefer linux..I've found no great advantage over using linux. Having a dual core proc is an advantage though if u want to use your pc for something other than dynamips.

people tell me that Linux is superior to Windows when doing CCIE
practice labs because windows can't handle that amount of devices. I was
hesistant using windows especially with the "possible new exam format".
I need to purchase a new laptop and I am stil unsure AMD over Intel or
vicer versa. I know without a doubt that 2GB is the min requirement.
