If you split the routers into two separate processes you shouldn't run
into problems with resource limitations on a Windows box. The example
on our webpage actually has the routers split into two processes for
this exact reason.

Okay. I really appreciate your quick response. I have had several
people tell me that Linux is superior to Windows when doing CCIE
practice labs because windows can't handle that amount of devices. I was
hesistant using windows especially with the "possible new exam format".
I need to purchase a new laptop and I am stil unsure AMD over Intel or
vicer versa. I know without a doubt that 2GB is the min requirement.
That goes undisputed.

I run about 12 routers on my notebook without a problem. It's an Intel
Core Duo with 2Gig of RAM. If you run this many routers you should
split them into two separate processes due to the memory limitations for
a single process within Windows. Also I've run it on both Windows and
Linux without a problem.
Here is a white paper that may help.

Is anyone running Dynamips on a laptop? Is the best way to run dynamips
using Linux? If anyone is running it on a laptop, could you please let
me know which one your using and the specs?
Thanks
Adam
