It is dual-ipv4-and-ipv6 + default. This means you are just adding
support for IPv6.

SW1(config)#do show sdm prefer
The current template is "desktop IPv4 and IPv6 default" template.
The selected template optimizes the resources in
the switch to support this level of features for
8 routed interfaces and 1024 VLANs.

number of unicast mac addresses: 2K
number of IPv4 IGMP groups + multicast routes: 1K
number of IPv4 unicast routes: 3K
    number of directly-connected IPv4 hosts: 2K
number of indirect IPv4 routes: 1K
number of IPv6 multicast groups: 1152
  number of directly-connected IPv6 addresses: 2K
number of indirect IPv6 unicast routes: 1K
number of IPv4 policy based routing aces: 0
number of IPv4/MAC qos aces: 512
number of IPv4/MAC security aces: 1K
number of IPv6 policy based routing aces: 0

SW1(config)#ipv6 unicast-routing
SW1(config)#vlan 100
SW1(config-vlan)#private-vlan primary
SW1(config-vlan)#

Subject: 3560 Private-VLANs and IPV6 are they mutually exclussive?

Hi,

In the 3560 configuration guide, it is recommended that when configuring
Private VLANs to use "sdm prefer default" and with IPv6 "sdm prefer
dual-ipv4-and-ipv6 default" should be used. I have a couple of
questions:

1. Does this mean that the switch will not support both P-VLANs and IPv6
if "sdm prefer dual-ipv4-and-ipv6 default" is used?

This also seems to be implied by the "sdm" command reference, Table
2-16.

cli2.htm#wp6900853

2. Also if the command is left to the default "sdm prefer default" will
the switch support both P-VLANs and IPv6?

I currently don't have access to 3560's to test it, so your input will
be appreciated.

Thanks
Elias
