I think both ways depends on how the information retained by you.
I think some people like to study all first and do the labs later. Some
people want to read as they go.
I would suggest you to read the theory as you go in the beginning. This way
if it does not work out for you, you will be figuring it out sooner than
reading bunch of books first that may take months to complete.
If you do not have Jeff Doyle books, I would suggest you to get those TCP/IP
vol 1 and 2.
You should be in good shape with IEv3 labs, CCO, GS and Jeff Doyle books.

Just my 2 cents.

Subject: im starting and need advice

Hi all, I am starting my quest for CCIE lab R&S and I would need advice..I
have a CCNP level knowledge of topics on the blue print and as I go
through the internetwork expert labs...I feel really behind. Should I
stop and go back to the theory or study as I go along the labs...??
Thanks!Abdel
