rip distribute-list gateway

Hi,

i was stumbeling about the problem not beeing able to match a host
(gateway), that i
don't want to accept rip advertisements.

I was trying a deny statement in a prefix list:

distribute-list gateway BB3 in e0/0

and not allowing in a prefix list:

ip prefix-list BB3 deny 204.12.1.254/32

The definition of the prefix list is, the first match in the row leaves the
list. So there is no need for an allow statement. Is that right?

But with this configuration there are no routes accepted at all.

Could someone explain why?

It works, when i configure to permit the hosts that are allowed and leave
the other host without permition.

I wanted to make it that way, because the question is not to allow from a
single host and the provided solution is, to allow from all the other host
but the one host not.

Frank
