Hi All,
In preparation for the lab, I think it would be useful to know what sort of
access I will have to the routers, and specifically the following;
1. Will I be allowed access to the terminal server or just to "my" routers?
I would like to create a shortcut just to the terminal server and switch
between routers using Ctr_^_6&x (creating a shortcut key in SecureCRT).
2. Can I assume that I will be using SecureCRT?
3. Will my terminal server be shared with any other routers? I like to save
using the terminal server by "shooting out the command to all the routers"
(as Brian Dennis so eloquently puts it in his COD), instead of saving on
each router. You can do this by typing "send *" at the terminal server. Of
course I wouldn't want to do this if other routers were connected to my
terminal server.
4. Is there any reason why we are recommended in practice labs to "save
frequently" Is this because the routers might crash halfway through the lab
due to unstable IOS (as we know it), or is a power cut to be expected?
If questions 1-3 vary with the different lab locations, I would particularly
like to know what the situation is in the Brussels location.
Many thanks
