I found most of the COMPTIA stuff too easy - CDIA was a winner , only
because I have never done document imaging.
MCSE I passed in six months all exams.
why waste my time with lower level certifications - CCIE is where I
want to be , and to my knowledge is the only cisco exam with a
practical - its can you do it or not , if you can you pass. I don't
like arbitrary book exams - trivia is not what gets you a job - Solid
book knowledge accompanied by solid practical experience is. I liked
cisco I desired a practical here i am. Does Juniper have a practical exam ?
CCIE is more than the doc cd , you have to know how to configure the
network - so long as you know the routing protocols Frame Relay IOS
navigation and the other major topics - doc cd will help with the
things you may not know or be sure of - say you get a question to
configure fifty seconds more then the default aging time for a MAC
Table - the doc cd could help if you forgot it was 300 seconds.
I wish I could find a list of recognized networking and security
certifications that require a practical. Seems to be a dearth of the former.
RHCE after R&S followed by CPTS/E and MCNE for me
