I have a few questions in regards to both models
pix(515 and 515E).

Default Memory When Shipped from Cisco:
515 and 515E
32MB RAM (restricted)64MB RAM (unrestricted)

PIX-OS 7.0 Memory Requirements
515
64MB RAM (restricted)128MB RAM (unrestricted)

PIX-OS 7.0 Memory Requirements
515E
128MB RAM (restricted)128MB RAM (unrestricted

I will be using the pix for my lab studies.

1)How do you go about changing from restricted to
unrestricted?

2)Does unrestricted and restricted matter for a home
lab?

3) can I simply upgrade the memory and run the latest
OS or IOS like a router?

4) can I simply add more interfaces with out any
problems?

5) does anyone see any other issues I may have for a
home lab?

6} do i need a license or key for a home lab (study
use)?
