All,
Doing some lab work based around different OSPF route filtering
techniques and I came across an interesting little problem that I
can't find well documented...
ASCII Visio...
(SW1) Area 12 (R2) Area 125 (R5) (R1) Area 0
Right now I have virtual-links running between R2 <--> R5 and R5 <-->
R1 (R2, R5, and R1 are in a Frame cloud with R5 as the hub).
I was trying to play with "area range 125 [loop back routes
summarized] not-advertise" and I'm running into issues.
R2 is an ABR and seeing all of the loopback addresses as IA (the
loopbacks are all advertised into random areas). But when I configure
the area range command it's still "leaking" these loopback routes to
SW1.
From what I see this is because of the virtual-link to R2, but I'm not
sure how to filter off these routes, can it be done with an area range
command or should I look elsewhere?
Thanks in advance,
