Hi,
The MPD is used to calculate the packets discarded when the average queue
depth is between the minTH and maxTH. If the MPD was set to 20 then at
maxTH, 1 out of every 20 packets is dropped. Beyond maxTH you get tail drop.
The average queue depth is a function of the old_average, current_depth and
the exponential weighting constant and it is calculated dynamically by the
router.
