unfortunately my routers are powered down.

Think about these match statements

match metric-type external
match tag 170
match community
match as-path

offset-list 0

  Hi,

Anyone have a good handle on what a prefix based
  method of.....

I have seen many questions that say not to use a
prefix based method or implement a prefix based
method. I always take this to mean anything that
filters on an IP address. I think a prefix is
synonymous with an IP address: prefix mask is the
mask. So, if I were told not to use a prefix based
method, I would assume I could neither use an ACL nor
  prefix list.

Don't use a prefix based method to remove a route from
  an OSPF redistribution...

for example, I would assume the following are bad

  Route-map whyme
  match ip add 1
  or
  match ip add pref x

  maybe we can match interface...
