It sound like you have it worked out at least in your head if not on your rack.
Let me ask you have you tried to ping the 226.26.x.x address?
Like this:
ping 226.26.26.26 rep 10000
and watch for responses
and/or
debug ip mpacket
You can also use:
sh ip mroute on each of the routers to see what their output looks like. Focus on the OILIST and ensure PIM is enabled on the interface of the router and its neighbor.
Sometimes you may need to alter the route with static multicast routing or affecting the routing metrics to get to your packet across.
