That is a lot to ask for in so few words...
Might I suggest a Cisco Press Title by Beau Williamson. He may be yout first best reference to start understanding Multicast a little better.
Interpretation is 1/2 of the battle, but you need to be a little familiar with some of your options.

This should help a bit. I would recommend spending a weekend playing with the features.
I recall one day, when Mr. Bob Sinclair happily recommended to us in his NMC-1 class the value of about 40 hours worth of lab to be spent exclusively on learning the nuances with Multicast.
I had to hear it twice, before I got the point.
I don't do too bad on multicast anymore. Thanks again Bob.
