Along that note...I always peer to the loopback and usually by default
cover a requirement that says to keep the peering up even if the
directly connected link to the neighbor is down. Other than typing more
commands, Am I setting my self up for anything doing it this way? I
just always peer to the loopback by habit,

John - You have to insure reachability to the peering address. So, you
can do it with standard routing protocols, static routes, or, which is
usually the case with eBGP...directly connected interfaces. HTH

univercd says eBGP doesn't peer if the only route to the loopback
interface is the default route (0.0.0.0).
But I have trouble to do iBGP too.
If I add a static route, they peer immediately.
Any idea ?
