1700/1800 is no go, you'd better have 2600(XM). Some QoS features are
not deployed for 1700/1800.
Per my lab takes, I had only one router with 12.4 on board. And no 12.4
features at all. Switches were all 3550 and it is hard to think that
they change it to 3750 soon (too big difference - has to be announced
well before) or to 3560 (not that big difference - no real points IMO).
All depends on how close you are to taking an exam. Within this year and
probably next year 2600 for home labs is a good choice, covering 95% i
would say, supposing they will introduce some 12.4 features. 2600XM
would probably cover 100% but prices are a bit higher per se.
