Hi There

My apologies if this has been posted before ..... But I am desperate for
some information.

I have thus far used the Internetwork Expert's Workbook and have been using
online labs at various providers usually over weekends.

This works all fine except for when you perhaps have to do unscheduled work
over the weekends and you miss booked labs or any other eventualities that
may arise.

Here is my scenario -

I am currently living in Johannesburg South Africa - which makes it quite
difficult to join in the spoils of Ebay and the like.

The problem is the high cost of shipping and taxes at customs.

I have found a local place that sells switches and routers at reasonably
affordable prices albeit not cheap as per the EBays.

But here come the questions:

IOS 12.4 is the current IOS in the Lab.

It is only supported by 1700, 1800, 2600XL, 2800, 3640 and upwards.

Are there any recommendations that you guys could make as to what to obtain
from a routing perspective?

Would you perhaps suggest getting 2620 and bash it out with 12.3

Getting 1800s with WIC2T

Or 1721/1751 with 1 WIC1ENET and a WIC2T

The 2611XM with WIC2T and 3640 with NM2FE2W, although nice to have and
modular, seem to be prohibitively expensive.

The price difference between the 3550 and 3560 seem to be quite small for
some reason I assume the 3560 would be the better choice ?

Hope you guys can help?

Thanks

Theo
