172.16.33.1 255.255.255.0 should not give you a bad mask error when it
is configured under a loopback interface. That's why everyone wants you
to put up exactly what you are typing. If you are typing:
Config t
Int lo 2
Ip addr 172.16.33.1 255.255.255.0
You should not get an error. And if you are, there must be some other
reason that's why people are looking for a screen shot or specific
configs (not the lab) from your router.
